Sink crack repair and resurfacing.
I don’t only limit my offer to do the baths or showers restoration.
In response to the growing demand for a porcelain sink repair and resurfacing, I’d like to introduce you to the way Eager Beaver can assist to improve the appearance of your damaged or worn bathroom basin or kitchen sink. The unique Belfast type, porcelain sink doesn’t have to end up as a waste or flower pot if the damage happens. In a smart way, as a one-day service or collection and delivery (subject to individual quote) I can efficiently restore its worn surface or even change its colour. If you don’t like to read much of a description, please look at the interesting sink restoration examples around and book now, I’ll be happy to help with your matter.
Why repair or resurface a sink over replacement?
If a basin is damaged you may consider replacing it but there is a smarter way to choose on most occasions. Without disconnecting your sink or basin, I can repair and restore it to as new condition saving you extra costs and hassle-free.
Cracks, dings, and staining can all be removed.
And if you’re a lucky owner of an antique branded piece of sanitary ware, I happily restore it to its former glory with an option to retain a logo.
I’ve found a better use for this classic ceramic sink than turning it into a flower pot. This restored beauty is now a part of a historical complex in the South-West.
Chipped sink repair. The size of the damage defines the solution needed. If I can – I’ll keep it as small as possible…and small in cost also. This acrylic basin was repaired only where damage had occurred. Good colour match and attention to details makes repair invisible to detect, despite it’s right in your face, each time you come to use the basin.
Sink resurfacing – as the shortest description is to name it a smaller version of bath or shower resurfacing service. Depending on how big the area damaged is on the sink, the repair solution can be either to offer a spot repair or re-coat the entire sink. The steps to prepare for resurfacing a porcelain sink are the same as working with a vitreous enamel bath or ceramic shower tray. The damage has to be repaired, substrate cleaned, and etched for adhesion, followed by undercoats and finishing glossy topcoat. The topcoat is then dried and polished and if needed a new silicone is applied (free of charge) around it.
It’s hardly ever necessary to repair the acrylic sink as a whole, but it’s also doable and long lasting.
To make sure that there is a minimum trace after me doing the repair, I always take great care of preparing the site and protect the area around me from spillage, dust or overspray.
Depending on the conditions on-site I either create a ‘tent’ (spray booth) around the sink or mask the entire bathroom, protecting walls, floor and anything else from overspray or dust. If you prefer and have your sink disconnected or just picked something unique from the antique shop – I can collect and refinish in a stationary sprayshop in Bristol.
The total time required for an entire sink repair and resurfacing is between 4-7hrs, and it will be usable from no later than the following day. Short drying time and the fact that nothing has to be moved or disconnected, makes it a great advantage over replacing the broken basin.
Colour matched sink crack repair with logo retention to an antique wash basin. The crack is too big to be treated as a ‘spot repair’ and so the entire surface was sprayed with a colour matched topcoat, but the logo is retained. That tricky repair is very detailed and only a few companies offer to keep the logo while resurfacing the entire thing.
Wondered about replacing it? No need to – in approx 5 hours your bathroom basin or kitchen sink can be resurfaced to as new condition.

Small area repairs using a blend of fillers and colour match topcoat to cover the area in a spot (most often using airbrush application) is a quick and cost-effective solution that when done properly, is hard to detect and is very durable.
The reasons for repairs and search for mine (and similar) service are very different, but for most are the small area damage. Often caused by impact – dropped cosmetic bottle or item, sometimes it’s a small hairline crack from other stress received to the sink structure. Opposite to a DIY attempt, I guarantee successful results. The repairs I offer are colour matched and with using proven materials and technique.
Why the proper colour match matter? Because the shades of white vary, and there is no standard colour for all sanitary ware manufactured. Even if you are able to properly fill and level the damaged place, hardly ever it will look close to the rest of the surface repaired if using DIY kits.
The small damage repairs are described in detail under this link: chipped bath repair
There is no huge difference between saving a bath, sink or shower tray surface that suffers a small crack or is having a scratch in an obvious place.
The thing that varies one repair type to another is the size – if the crack is along the majority of the surface or there are many places around the sink with scratches, then the better results are achieved when the sink is evenly sprayed as a whole surface restoration service.
Contact me if your existing sink or basin is affected by spills, scratches or cracks. Even if it can look as probably non-saveable, I’m always happy to give you a free estimate and help best I can to the situation.

Not only I do repair most types of damaged sinks but also help with restoration projects. If you intend to buy some unique Edwardian basin or found something that would complement your Victorian-style cottage, I can restore it, both on-site or collected.
If the logo retention is important, here’s good news – on most occasions, I can re-enamel the sink from the previous decade with that valuable stamp being still untouched.
On this classic corner sink, there is a large damaged area around the right-hand side tap. The trick was to repair the damage, without changing its appearance much, to still match the room style. Look below for the results of a small crack repair.
When you browse for a solution to remove discoloration and scratches from your Belfast type sink, or to repair the little dings and cracks from it, the common advice online is to use a baking soda and scratch it even more or use a DIY kit to touch in. Trouble is, even if you improve the look of it by using harsh chemicals or abrasives, the surface is already full of scratches and pores – it will catch the dirt again in no time. With kitchen sink re-enameling solution I will fill and level the damage, apply the undercoats, and give it a new skin that is easy to clean, durable and with a branded resurfacing materials from Hawk Research Labs, which I use, you can have it improved by adding a silver antibacterial treatment to a resurfacing topcoat.
Here’s another successful kitchen sink restoration project. A massive joy to make it look as new in just a few hours time.
